Today Mayor Savage and I visited Camp Brigadoon Village and learned about the Camp Kedooopse and Camp Believe programs.
We learned about Camp Kedooopse- an overnight camp for youth ages 7-17 who are experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one. And Camp BELIEVE- also an overnight camp, but devoted to youth who are impacted by a parent’s mental illness.
These camps are an excellent example of the comfort and positivity that can come from peer support. They connect kids with other youth who are going through similar situations and life experiences. Not only are they supporting each other, but they’re having an incredible time doing it!!!
