The new Minister of Seniors, Filomena Tassi is with the Prime Minister in PEI today. They’re discussing our actions to improve the lives of seniors today and ensure a safe and dignified retirement for the seniors of tomorrow.
✔ We restored the retirement age back to 65 after the previous government raised it to 67. That decision is putting thousands of dollars back in the pockets of Canadians as they become seniors.
✔ We’ve made increases to OAS & GIS, so that a senior in Canada can now receive up to $1,700 more per year compared to before.
✔ We reached an agreement with the provinces and territories to improve the Canada Pension Plan for the seniors of tomorrow. The enhanced CPP will put up to 50% more into the pockets of retirees.
What would you like to see the Minister of Seniors work toward during her mandate?
