I’ve learned that the medals for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games were originally designed by Ella Scothorn as a youth, and then refined by Mi’kmaw artist Tayla Fern Paul. I’d love to learn even more about the Mi’kmaq symbolism—they’re beautiful.
