Loved starting my day off with the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Garden Buds!
Earlier this year, I delivered $12,333 through our Government’s New Horizons for Seniors Program to turn a small pilot project into this 20-week gardening program in Cole Harbour.
From May until October, this incredible group of seniors get together, they take part in workshops, learn new gardening skills, and enjoy refreshments from the Rose & Kettle Tearoom.
Ergonomic gardening tools and equipment are provided, and the Garden Buds work their magic in the beautiful Cole Harbour Heritage Farm gardens. Flowers and friendship blossom in this garden!
It was super to see and learn first-hand why investing in programs, like the Garden Buds, is so important for seniors in Dartmouth—Cole Harbour. Programs like this tackle social isolation and provide fantastic opportunities for seniors to continue learning new skills, while making new friends.
FUNDING OPPORTUNITY! The New Horizons for Seniors Program is accepting applications until September 14th at 3pm EST for projects that empower seniors in their communities and contribute to improving their health and well-being.
Eligible organizations can apply for up to $25,000 for projects are led by seniors and are volunteer based.
