I had a super time at the Forum for Young Canadians in Ottawa last night!
It was a pleasure to meet so many young folks interested in learning more about their country and its government. I was thrilled to see constituents from Dartmouth-Cole Harbour and across Nova Scotia too!
A lot of the real work carried out by Parliamentarians in Ottawa happens away from the media spotlight. I hope the participants in the Forum enjoyed seeing first-hand the work that goes on behind the scenes here on Parliament Hill. I think it’s great to give youth an authentic taste of federal politics, so kudos to the organizers and volunteers who made it possible!
I was impressed with the level of maturity and intelligence obvious in each Forum participant I spoke to.
If these young people are the future leaders of our country, then I think we’re all in good hands!
