Healthy meals and full bellies help kids grow and learn. That why we’re stepping up and delivering a National School Food Program.

I’ve long advocated for a National School Food Program to help ensure that every child has the best start in life. And I want to thank folks out there like Nourish NS who believe the same. Who work on this every day and show us all why it matters.

I believe this program will be a generational investment like the Canada Child Benefit—something I’m immensely proud of. The Canada Child Benefit provides families up to nearly $8,000 per child, per year, and hundreds of thousands of kids have been lifted out of poverty because of it. Our National School Food Program will build on this work.
